Character Traits!

On Wednesday, the first graders explored character traits!  The second graders did this a few weeks ago, and it was first grade's turn to describe themselves using character traits!  Enjoy and Happy Holidays!

Book Order Due Tomorrow

The Scholastic Book Order is due tomorrow, Wednesday, December 7th. The class code is K2FQZ.

Wednesdays with the Second Grade

Every Wednesday, after Spanish, the second graders stay with Mrs. Bristol for Reader's Workshop, and the First Graders stay with Mrs. Delphia for Reader's Workshop. This is a time where each grade level focuses on specific grade level skills.

This Wednesday, the second graders learned about character and personality traits. They circled words on a list that they thought described them, then made posters all about them!

Sing Along for Friday Fun!

This morning we had an all-school sing along with Buddy. We sang "This Land is Your Land", "Dip, Dip, and Swing", "The Donut Shop", "Three Little Birds", "Johnny B. Goode", "I'm Not Scared", and "Thanks A Lot". What a great way to start the day!

Election Day Eve

The first and second graders from both classroom will be voting on a book character for president in Library! They generated a list of qualities that they believe a president should have. What a kind and thoughtful list!

Here is what they came up with:

Kind

Nice

Tell the truth/don’t lie

Nice to the person who loses

Respectful of other people

Polite

Not yelling at people

Know what to do in every situation

Be kind to other governments

Be kind to people who are different

Keep us safe

Make good rules

Don’t brag

Be kind to people who work for the government

Don’t boss people around

Vermont Sampler
